Why not have a look at our OFSTED report.  Here are some highlights:

Pupils' enthusiasm for showing work they are proud of makes them great ambassadors for the school, and is one of many indicators of their tremendous enjoyment of school and their love of learning.

The excellent provision for personal, social, health and citizenship education results in pupils' outstanding personal development and well-being. This provision, alongside learning opportunities in science and physical education, has developed pupils' excellent appreciation of healthy lifestyles. They have a mature understanding of how to keep safe in school and at home. Pupils look out for and care for each other, they behave well and all work hard to meet the school's high expectations.

Thank you for making us welcome in your school and for talking to us so willingly. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing you at work. You told us how much you enjoy going to school. This is not surprising because you go to a good school that is successful in helping you to learn.

We have also had an inspection of our role as a church school.  These are some of the highlights of this report. The full report can be found in the documents section of this website.

The distinctiveness and effectiveness of Burrington Primary School as a Church school is Outstanding

Burrington Church of England Primary School is distinctive and effective because of the excellent leadership and the implicit Christian ethos which permeates all aspects of its daily life. Collective worship, prayer and time for reflection are central facets which underpin the Christian foundation. Care for the children and their personal development has a very high priority. The school and its church enjoy a very special partnership as a joint focal point of the village and this adds considerably to the distinctive character of the school.

Some of the established strengths are

  • The overall quality of relationships in the school based on the Christian values and principles of love, care, respect and forgiveness.
  • The confidence of pupils in expressing their feelings and opinions as a result of the secure and inclusive school ethos.
